Half Day Lasithi Jeep Tour

During this tour, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the territorial diversity and the embossed mountaintops where according to myth Zeus, the king of the Gods, was born by visiting an abandoned village, exploring the process of olive oil-making and tasting the traditional Cretan cuisine.

Once everyone gets acquainted with the driver and after the necessary briefing, you will head south towards the Lassithi plateau. The road soon leads us to the dam of Aposelemi. There you can see the abandoned village of Sfendili, which, depending on the water level, is visible or not.

We continue on the provincial road that leads us to the picturesque village of Avdou where we will have a stop at the local olive oil factory. There you can explore the local olive oil varieties as well as have a closer firsthand look at the olive oil-making process. After the tour at the olive oil factory, we follow the road that leads us to the fertile plateau of Lassithi, where there were once more than 1000 windmills, which pumped groundwater to irrigate the fields.

After a quick drive around the plateau and a quick stop for pictures at the windmills, that decorate the entrance of the plateau, we will have the opportunity to taste the traditional Cretan cuisine in a local restaurant. After our meal, we will head back to the hotel.
