Hiking in Meteora! An enjoyable hiking route in the unique landscape of Meteora.
This route is a unique opportunity to admire the amazing natural beauty of Meteora. Our starting point for the hike in Meteora is the holy monastery of Agios Nikolaos Anapavsa. We follow the path that starts at the foot of the rocks. Our route passes under the ruined Pantokratoros Monastery, on the northern side of the Doupiani rock. Then we enter the heart of the green forest and reach the abandoned and restored Ypapanti Monastery and the statue of the revolutionary fighter Papathymios Vlahavas. From there, the path leads us to the top of the rocks and then to the impressive monasteries "Megalo Meteoro" and "Barlaam", where we stop to visit one of them. Finally, following a stone cobblestone, we descend to the starting point, passing the cave of St. George Mandilas, where every year climbers climb to hang their handkerchiefs.
This three-hour hike presents no difficulty and is ideal for everyone.

Clothing for visiting the monasteries: For men, a shirt that covers the shoulder and pants or shorts that cover the knee. For women skirts cover the knee and clothes cover the shoulders and chest. You can have the clothes for visiting the monastery in your backpack and put them on before you enter.
