Join us on a hike to Trypi Falls in Parnassos. There are actually two waterfalls, the big and the small waterfall. They are named after the small waterfall that rises spectacularly from the mountain through a hole. From the big waterfall they got the magic since it falls from a height of 82m. They are located in the gorge of Velitsa (Upper Tithorea) and at an altitude of 1250m between the peaks of Liakura (2457m) and Kalogiro (2327m). For many people it is considered one of the most impressive routes in Greece and that is why we included it in our program.
Our route starts just outside the village of Velitsa near the chapel of Agios Ioannis. Then we will cross a very impressive route on the outskirts of Parnassos which of course hides some difficulties. In order to reach the waterfalls we will have to climb with assistance next to a water supply pipe about 10m, climb an iron ladder about 15m, lean on a wire rope and use a rope to descend the waterfall. It may sound difficult and demanding and it is, but the climbing instructors and mountain guides we have on the trip will make the trip enjoyable and it will certainly be conducted in complete safety. However, the route is not for beginners.
