Hike to Agios Ioannis and the Waterfall of Lepida
Activity Description
The path starts from the village of Agianni at an altitude of 725m heading to the Ksirokabi plateau. On the route to the top of mountain Sarantapsiho (forty souls) there is Marmaralona. It’s a place where there have been findings of a settlement which dates back to Neolithic age, the first signs of human existence.
Ascending the path, the bushy vegetation offers a combination of sea and mountain views, with the summits of Parnon mountain and the Argolic gulf being admired by the hikers.
A mild descending route on a slope, with a view to Lepida gorge, ends up to the Lepida Waterfall, 45m high. The natural, wild beauty of the grey cliffs, the sound of the running waters as well as the fragnance of the aromatic herbs, make the visitors get carried away in carefree moments. The return to Agianni goes through the fertile Ksirokabi plateau, where the springs of Lepida gush.
In the village there are traditional taverns with delicious food and fresh local products.
